In this blog post I am doing the Edublog Challenge 6 and that is about volunteering. Would you ever volunteer somewhere? Where would that place be at? If I would be able to volunteer at somewhere the perfect place for me would be at the Monterey County American Red Cross. Why is it important? Because when I grow up I want to be a doctor, so I want to get used to getting around many people. If it is that I do get to volunteer I really don’t expect nothing back because that’s what volunteering is. Your’e not suppose to expect anything back. Other people can volunteer by searching their county and they should have many places to volunteer at. Some cool things they can do are people organizations or animal cause. Well this is it fellow visitors. Tell me what other things you volunteer at if you can.

In this blog post I am suppose to be a Persian soldier trying to take over Greek in the Thermopylae battle.
Here I am standing in the ready position ready to attack the Spartans. I am so honored to be here. Since I am one of the best soldiers they have sent me to fight against them.I still can’t really believe I’m here. The bad thing about this is that I got a place at the very back so I have to wait till the people in front die or they kill the Athens. But as always I will fight till the death!
So the battle has started and there throwing arrows and I am seeing people die in front of my own eyes. It smells like sour blood. The thing I hate is the hot warm air surrounding us. Wait, someone is standing in back of me I shall kill him now or never! I am really wounded and my wrist are tired and are all sweaty from holding on to my weapon to protect myself. Now that the battle has ended I see almost all of my fellow friends dead on the floor or wounded and I am also dead. Well in this tale I die I really hope you liked it.

In this blog post I was told to write a letter to my parents acting like a spartan girl. The letter will include type of government in Sparta and what that means to me, I will acknowledge my role in Spartan society, defend the “Spartan way” of thinking against Athenian democracy and speak about my future growing old as a Spartan. I hope you like it! :)
Dear Mom and Dad,
It’s been a long time since I have sent you any letters so here I am writing. I wanted to tell you I am proud to be a Spartan! I am now 18 years old and my life here in a house just taking care of it is pretty great. One of the things I really admire from Sparta is the government. The government we have is great, it’s a about oligarchy. We have more land and are more free. With 2 kings headed on the council of leaders it’s great.
That so shows that our Government (oligarchy) is way better than Athenian government. (Democracy) Here we have been doing a lot of sports. They say we do this so that we can have much more stronger babies when we get married so that we have a much more stronger army than the Athenians. A law that we have is that we can have more than one husband because if one stays to much time in the army I have another guy to be with, but don’t worry I am not that kind of a person. We are so much better than the Athenians because of the land we have and because of our army of spartan solders. I hope that in the future we will win more wars with Athenians (losers) and with other people to because we shall never give up!We the Spartans rock! Well that’s all I hope you can reply back . Bye!!
Love ♥Melina♥

One assignment I had this week was to create a fake Facebook page about myself 10 years from now. I think that is really cool to look at yourself and to make a prediction on how you are going to look in the future. If you click on the picture some things you will notice in there will be who my friends are I think i will have more friends than this but I only decided to put some of my friends. Another thing you will notice will be my education. I am planning to got to Stanford university and be a pediatrician. My status will also be included in there. I don’t know if by then I will be married or will just be in a relationship or maybe I will be alone. I also included where I live I am not totally sure where I plan to live when I get bigger because I am not planning to live with my parents forever. In there I also put what my hobbies are and my interests are. I am not sure what I will like in the future but right now I know that my favorite color is blue, but maybe in the future it will change. The last thing you will see in there will be the nice conversation I would be having when I am bigger. If you want to know what we were talking about click on the picture and see.
I have many plans for myself in the next ten years. Well as I told you in the beginning of the first paragraph I am planning to go to college at Stanford. If I don’t go there then I might go to UCSB (University of California Santa Barbara). One thing I do know is that I will try to not get married until I finish college and I have my carrier. I also kind of know what carrier I want to be in which makes my decision much more easier to make. I want to be a pediatrician because I want to learn about medicine and I also want to be able to help in my community. Well this is how I think my future is going to be like, but if it doesn’t turn out like this then I just hope it goes better.

Today in class we were suppose to go to 5 different blogs and leave them a comment asking them 5 different questions about their town, school, or country. The first person I went to was Sriya. I found her in the Student Challenge list. (This is were I found almost everybody.) The second person I went to was Liam’s Blog. His blog looked cool. The third blog I visited was Jenny H’s blog. The fourth blog I visited was Chris’s Blog. His blog was really colorful. The fifth blog I visited was Science Girl Em’s Blog. All of the blog post had something that caught my attention, had a blog post that was interesting, or they had something I really admired. To all these kids I asked them this as a comment:
1)What school do you go to?
2)What is your school’s mascot? (Do you have one?)
3)What country do you live in?
4)What is the name of your town?
5)Were there famous people born there were you live?

This week in math class we were reviewing everything we have studied so far this year. Which would be percents adding or subtracting integers finding the GCD or LCM adding or subtracting fraction with unlike denominator and many more stuff. This is all easy for me all because our teacher showed us how to code some of the questions that involve proportions so we don’t get mixed up with where the numbers go on. This is what we were doing Monday and Tuesday. On Tuesday night we had to study a lot because on Wednesday and on Friday we had to take our benchmark. This is all we did in Math this week.

In this blog post I’m pretending that I am 65 years old and giving advice to my middle school self. My life at 65 is really great because when I graduated from high school with honors I went to the Stanford University the university I wanted to go to. Their was were I had the lowest grades you can possibly have because but I over came this. That’s also where I meet these guys that turns out to be a total jerks. Then one day I was going to class when I saw this guy with short hair who really likes to play sports. He turns out to be my future husband. At that time I really started to think what career I was going to take. It was either teacher or pediatrician. Well I chose the wrong career I ended up being a teacher which when I started felt pretty good but when it got more involved I thought it was the worst career anyone could ever take. I actually was going to drop out of school so I wouldn’t finish my career but of course like any parent would say stay in school this was your dream and now that you got it you can’t let it go. So they encouraged me to finish my career. Soon I was a teacher which I think I regretted that so badly.
If I were to be able to change my young age life I would have gotten better grades in middle school like A’s. One thing I certainly would do would be change my career and be a pediatrician. I think that would be the best choice since I really didn’t like being a teacher. The only correct choice I too was to go to Stanford University and I chose the correct person to be with. Being 65 is not easy when you know you did so many wrong things that you would like to change.

Hello! This week in math we didn’t learn we reviewed mean median mode and range. To find these things you need numbers. Let’s say you have 145 126 100 and 125. To find the mean you have to first put them in order from least to greatest. (100 125 126 145) Then you add all of the numbers and will get 496. After that you count the number of numbers you added and then divide. Here you get 496 divided by 4 and you get 124.That is only your mean. Then to find the median you put them in order from east to greatest again and then look for the midde number if there are an even number of items you and them and divide by 2. In this probem you have to add and divide by 2 you will get 125.5. That is your median. To find the mode you look for a number that repeats the most if there are two or more numbers that repeat look for the one that repeats more times. In this probem none of the numbers repeat. Finally to find the range you put them in order from least to greatest then you get the two numbers from each side and subtract them. This is what I learned in math this week.
